It’s just happened to my wife and me. We had casually talked about it for years. We had visited the area many times. We’d been to Mexico. We’d spent time in Malibu. We’d flown into and through LAX. We'd even eaten at a “Baja Fresh” in Hollywood! Looking back on it all it was really a decision quite a long time in the making; and in the end it was a decision that came easily for us. We looked on the Internet and then spent hours with a realtor looking at houses for rent, for sale, trying desperately to locate just the right house, the right neighborhood, shopping conveniences, and ample entertainment. Finally, the day came and on March 20th we moved to OC.
If you’re reading this, there’s a good chance that your experiences in locating to OC were pretty similar to ours. Things kind of work that way, being similar and all. I would venture a guess, though, that there’s one significant difference in our move from yours. You see we found a church home before we ever located a house. But then again, I’m a minister and I was supposed to do that, right? Perhaps so, but that’s really what I want to talk with you about: looking for a new home.
There are so many, many things that go into looking for a new home that folks often overlook what I believe to be an important part of the equation: looking for a new church home. Whether or not you’ve taken the time to consider this part of your move, I want to extend to you a personal invitation to be my guest at the South County Church of Christ. We’re a family of believers in Jesus Christ who simply seek to lift up Jesus as a model for our daily living, our daily decisions, and as a guide for nurturing, rearing, and understanding our children through these challenging times.
If you’re looking for a new home… a new church home, stop by next Sunday morning. We currently meet in Laguna Niguel at Bergeson Elementary School on Rancho Niguel Road.
We’re family here and we’d like to welcome you home!
